The Kindertons Ltd. Colour Run took place this weekend as over 500 runners joined in the fun at the King George Playing Fields in Crewe! Sponsored by Crewe Town Council & in support of Kindertons selected charity Cheshire Buddies, the Colour Run was hosted and facilitated by Crewe FC & it’s army of club volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring the event to life and ensure everyone that attended had a fantastic time! Daniel Athorn, Operations Director at Kindertons had this to say the latest addition to Crewe’s annual events calendar; “It was an unbelievable event and we (Kindertons) are delighted that we could play our part in bringing it to the local community in Crewe. We are really proud to be able to support such fantastic community initiatives and charities and hopefully we will have raised a significant amount of money for Cheshire Buddies. I’d like to give a special thank you to Crewe FC, who are a wonderful community club who’s support has been fundamental to the success of the event” Local MP Laura Smith who took part in the family event was equally as impressed; “It was my pleasure to take part in the Colour Run on Sunday. The event was a huge success raising funds for the excellent charity Cheshire Buddies, and I would like to thank all who helped to organise the run and to those who took part. It was wonderful to see so many people of all different ages taking part and more importantly having such a good time. I am incredibly proud to be the MP of my hometown and events like this show what a great community spirit we have. Myself and my family are very much looking forward to taking part next year”. The event was also supported by the Mayor of Crewe, Cllr Brian Roberts; “I was so pleased to see how well the Colour Run was received at its new venue in Crewe. Participation by people of all ages was fantastic to witness, I don’t think I have ever seen so many smiling faces before. The event is a real asset to Crewe and I can’t wait for the one next year”. Steve Parker, Chairman at Crewe FC had this to say on the event and more specifically those that helped make it possible; “It was an incredible community event. Having been involved with each run over the past 4 years, this one has really astounded me. The sheer volume of effort and support from the members of my Club was above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen at a Football Club. They are, collectively, an incredible group of people and they deserve every bit of praise and recognition they’ve received in hosting a spectacular event. We also need to say a huge thank you to those that helped on the day. The efforts of Charlie Maines & his Wishing Well colleagues, the Area 51 Fitness squad, Danny Lavalette & Lavalette Productions, Cheshire Buddies and all their helpers all contributed to an incredible day that the local community should be really proud of. We’re delighted it’s being adopted as part of Crewe’s annual calendar of events and we’re already looking forward to hosting it next year” The Official Event Photographs can be viewed & downloaded here; 📸 Well done to be everyone involved... We’ll see you next year!! Crewe FC
