Crewe FC’s recent kit collection in support of Walé Adekunbi’s ‘Changing Lives Through Football’ project has been distributed over the Christmas period to children attending the Raptim FC Academy in Gambia. Over 200 items of football kit & boots, donated primarily by our Junior & Senior Teams were passed across to children and young people in an area where poverty and struggle is part of their daily lives. The ‘Changing Lives Through Football’ project helps to engage children in team sports, building their social skills & confidence in the process. It’s something that Crewe FC & Kindertons are committed to supporting over the next few years. Danny Massey, Crewe FC’s Football Development Officer, was delighted to see that the Club and our main sponsors had been able to offer some support, but even more impressed with the difference the project is making to the lives of the people it engages. “It’s lovely to see the kits being put to good use and we’re really happy that we are in a position as a Club to help out such a good cause. But even more pleasing is seeing the work that is going on. All of us at the Club have been following Walé’s social media (Instagram: w4lsta) over the past few weeks and you can’t help but be impressed and inspired by what he’s doing over there. The fact that he does it all voluntarily, at an expense to himself most of the time is even more incredible. We’re really looking forward to supporting his future trips and we’re also looking to see how we can be more actively involved with him and his project in the future”. A fantastic effort from all involved. #TogetherStronger (📸 Pictured: Raptim FC’s U10s have a new playing kit thanks to donations from Crewe FC’s Junior Teams)
